Buggy Ride and Dutch Wonderland

Well since Jords is gone literally ALL day long I have had lots of time to hang out with my sister-in-law and her kids. But one thing we were able to do as a big family was go on a Buggy Ride around Amish town.

After eating an AMAZING dinner at Hershey Farms

While Jordan and Jared (my brother-in-law) were out working hard, Amy and I got to take the kids to a little place called Dutch Wonderland. It was basically a mix between Lagoon and Disneyland with all children's rides. Cadance and Brody were the PERFECT age to come here. I had so much fun going on rides all day.

Here I am with the kids on a Ferry Ride

Brody was so excited to drive the car!

Did I mention there was a water-park there too? Well sadly Amy and I forgot our bathing suits... but the kids didn't let us get off that easy. We ended up just going down slides while in our street clothes.

I was lucky enough to tag along with Jordan while he worked last Saturday night. He was helping at the Select Security table at a AAA baseball game (minor league.) It was great to get out and spend some time with my husband. (sorry for his really dark eyes- photoshop took out the "red eye" but apparently I kinda messed up on the size. Whoops.)

Pennsylvania has been good to us and I am very grateful to have this experience. But I am excited to come home on Wednesday for a short visit!

Here is a random photo I found that was too cute not to put up. It is Brody (my nephew) painting my face at a Hands On Museum down here in Lancaster PA.

Petition to Redistribute GPA Scores

Found this today- thought it was a great analogy. I would love to hear comments of people opinions on this one. (no need to be rude or harsh, just lemme know what you think about it.)

In memory

My sister-in-law sent me this story this morning because she knew it was going to be a hard day for me. I am grateful Heavenly Father puts people in our lives to help lift us up and make us happy. And even though I will ALWAYS miss my best friend Kristan, I know she is in a better place. This story reminded me of that.

"There once lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions. Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their friend was dead, gone forever. Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top. When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying. So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never known existed. Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended. But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he understood that their time would come, when they, too, would know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life!…"

I miss you Kris, but I know you are flying high. :)

Same Jersey

I came across this video at a perfect time. I am grateful to "wear the same jersey" as these two amazing men. Hope you enjoy.

Truths for Mature Humans

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the crap are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? **** it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

20. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

21. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

22. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

25. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber & dumber every year?

29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my *** everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Cabo Story

Ok- so I know this happened like 3 weeks ago.. but its too good of a story to just skip.

Jordan and I had the pleasure of going to CABO with Kylee and Cole. It was going to be such a sweet vacation!! And we were so excited. Kylee's dad had connections- so we were getting our hotel for SUPER CHEAP!! We also drove to Vegas cause flights were cheaper if you left from sin city. We even stocked up at Costco when we got there and ate most of our breakfast and lunch meals in our little kitchen. Basically- we were trying to save as much money as we could.

Here is us getting to Cabo and getting our rental car. (which we also got a great deal on)

We got to our Hotel and settled in.

Then we went on a quick trip to Costco and loaded up on some food. We decided to eat dinner there too. (Maybe jordan got sick from the food this night???)

Well a few hours later Jordan wasn't feeling too good. And sadly, he got "the runs"..... Poor guy. I thought it would pass within a day. Well- one day went by... then two. We decided to go to go to the doctor at our hotel. He gave Jordan a shot and some meds and sent us on our way. The bill total: $390 USD.
Jordan felt better- for about 2 hours.. Then those "runs" came back. Not good. It was when I walked into the bathroom- saw him puking and shaking- that I decided this was serious and I called our doctor crying. The doctor rushed down to come meet us- and told us Jordan needed to go to the hospital. :( I was devastated, and I felt so bad that we hadnt called the doctor sooner. So off we went.

Our little "NUNS" hospital. Seriously though. The back of the hospital was a nuns convent. The nuns were so sweet.

Jordan wasn't able to eat or drink anything till his intestines started working again. (The doc explained it and told us the the intestines has little hairs that soak up all the nutrients we need... but because Jords has "the runs" for 4 whole days those hairs were wiped away and his body needed to repair them.

Here is his first time eating soft foods. He got green jello. It was yummy- I had a bite

Here is where I slept during our 24 hour stay- it was actually pretty comfy

And we have moved on to solid foods people!!!!!! Big step!!!!
Well- after over 24 hours at the "clinica" (and over 4 bags of IV'S...) Jordan was given the ok to go home. I was THRILLED!! All that was left to do was pay the bill..........................

After over $3600 bill was paid- we were back at home.

We had 1 full day left in Cabo and wanted to make the most of it... so we went surfing!!!!!

And on Jordan's first ride- he landed randomly on a sea urchin that tore up his hand.

Jordan and Kylee spent over 2 hours trying to get all the little spines out of his hand. He didn't have ANY luck on this trip.

After our plane flight back- he was exhausted- and yet so happy to be back on US grounds
I don't know if he will want to vacation much in Cabo anymore haha... (at least I got some sun in the long run- the only thing I was able to do was lay out at the pool when Jords was sick in our hotel room.)
