Pre Wedding Bliss

8 DAYS!!!! In exactly 8 days I will be Amber Swarbrick! I cannot believe how fast the engagement period has gone by. Jordan and I, along with our families, have had so much fun planning our wedding. Our wedding planner has been a complete lifesaver though. We really couldn't have put everything together in just a short 8 weeks. So thank you to everyone who has helped us!!
Here is a pic of one side of our announcements we sent out, Casey Roberts it AMAZING at putting these things together.

I thought they turned out so great :) We were very happy with them.
Okay, so funny story about the "Pre Wedding Bliss." Just last week Jordan and I went to go get our bridals/groomals done. He was so excited to see my dress, and we even got it on video when he first did. Things were going great! I felt beautiful, Jordan looked so handsome, and we were having a lot of fun taking pictures at the Noni Gardens in Provo. We started taking pictures at 4:45 pm due to some conflicts so it was really really hot outside and the sun was just beating down on us. My dress was extremely tight around my rib cage, and I was having a hard time breathing. I am also very claustrophobic and was starting to get pretty sick. Long story short, I ended up completely fainting while on concrete... luckily my Prince Charming was about 5 feet away from me and saw me go down, he was able to catch me before my head hit the floor. Jordan sat me down and apparently my face went green because my photographer looked at me with big eyes and pointed over to the flower bed. I turned over my shoulder, hair in my face, and threw up 4 times!!!!

Yep.... this is me after puking in my wedding dress. Look how cute Jord is, holding my hair back and dabbing some cold water on me. He was so great!! I felt pretty miserable after this and still had over an hour and a half of pictures that needed to be snapped! He was encouraging me the whole time :) telling me how beautiful I looked, and still kissing me haha. (Don't worry, I washed my mouth out and put a few pieces of gum in and my dress is being altered so this doesn't happen again haha)
How did I get so lucky?? I have the most handsome man standing next to me who loves me with everything he has, and the best part... he WANTS to take care of me for eternity. I don't know what I did to deserve someone as amazing as Jordan, but I promise to work as hard as I can everyday to be half the person he is. I cannot wait to be sealed to him in just over a week. I love you Jordan Michael Swarbrick!! I cannot wait to be your wife!

For My Best Friend, KRISTAN RUBY LUSVARDI

Ambi and Kris, best friends for eternity

Most of you may know about the most amazing girl in the entire universe! Her name is Kristan. She is my very best friend. We became best friends back in 9th grade, which was 6 years ago. We both cheered at Timpview High School, and loved Gwen Stafani haha. We were inseparable! People knew that if you wanted one girl, the other one always came along. It was never just Kristan or Amber, it was Kristan AND Amber. I want to dedicate this post to her. The picture above is one of the last I was ever able to take with my dear sweet Kris...

Kris could make you feel important, even if you felt alone. She was always there to make you smile and laugh. She always looked at the positive in every situation. She was reliable, sweet, fun, compassionate, loving, trustworthy, and so many others. It was never a party until Kristan was there! She was always so much fun to be around, and she brought out the best in people. She was so loving, she cared for every single person she came in contact with. Everyone wanted to be around Kristan Ruby.

Sadly, my best friend passed away on June 8, 2009. A few days ago was the year mark of her being in Heaven instead of on Earth. She has been missed by many people, and has made an everlasting impression on all she became friends with. I wanted to get all of the old gang back together and do something in memory of her. We all went out to eat at Kristan's favorite place, Olive Garden. After stuffing ourselves, we decorated her grave site with flowers. It was so great to have all of our friends there! We Miss You Kristan!

I wanted to thank everyone who has been there for me this past year. My family and friends who have comforted me and helped me gain strength to continue moving forward. I also want to thank the Lusvardi Family. They have been such a blessing in my life, and I am so grateful for the friendship I still have with all of them. I can't wait to move into their basement apartment with Jordan later this summer, and be able to share new fun experiences with them. Lastly, my amazing fiance' Jordan. He was never able to meet Kristan, but he definately knows her. He is always there for me when I have my "Kristan days" and loves hearing about all of my memories with her.
I love you so much Kristan Ruby Lusvardi! I am so happy we were able to spend 6 short years together here on earth. You changed my life for the better, and I can't wait to see you again. Save me a seat.

"A FRIEND FROM ABOVE....

I prayed for you before we met,
Not knowing who you'd be.
I asked the Lord to send a friend.
One chosen just for me.

I asked that they'd be Godly,
With wisdom of His ways.
A friend to help and guide me
I the troubles of these days.

So often in life, we need someone
To listen while we talk.
Someone who will not condemn or judge,
But encourage us as we walk.

The narrow road we choose to follow
May sometimes make us stumble.
But to have a friend to catch our fall,
Teaches us to be humble.

When I asked the Lord to send a friend,
Though many came and went.
He gave much more than I ever asked,
For you are the friend He sent."

A weekend of Engagement pics, Rope Swings, and Sports

Just last week we were able to go out on a beautiful day and take some amazing pictures for our wedding invitations. Our photographer was Kate Benson. SHE IS INCREDIBLE!!! We have too many good pics to choose from.. I don't know how we are going to narrow it down. Here are a few preview pics, enjoy!

We also had a great weekend following our little photoshoot with Kate. We went to this place called the rope swing. It is in Mona or something. Can you say GHETTO!? haha, total hickville. But we had a great time. Basically we drive to this place in the middle of nowhere, with swamps, trees, bugs, and people with missing front teeth ha. When you get there you have a choice of 3 levels to "swing" off from into the water. I went on the second level, and of course Jord went off the highest one and did a flip while jumping off. We met a lot of crazy, but fun, people down there. And we were so happy to be able to go with our close friends, Jourdain, Nicole, Parker, and Christina.

Heres the whole gang that went down. Such a blast!!

Jord and I

Photo of the day! Poor parker got the rope caught around his arm... good thing he is a tough kid!

We also loved watching the Celtics beat the Lakers!! Well, everyone was happy but Scoubes. Sorry buddy! Jord came over to my grandparents house on Sunday and was able to meet the whole gang again. We had an amazing dinner, thanks Angela and Karen, and got to see Grandma Great one last time before she goes back home to Idaho. I love my family :)and was so happy the rest of the crew could finally meet my future HUBBY! On Sunday night, a few of us got together to go play around. We shot some hoops and even played a little racquetball. All in all it was a great weekend. We are so grateful for all our friends and family. We sure miss Jordan's fam back in Cali :( But we can't wait to see them in just 4 short weeks!!!

Lake Powell Baby!

So it has been pretty crazy with planning a wedding in only 8 weeks, and my fam decided why not take a little break at our favorite summer place!? I agreed and so did Jord. We spent 4 amazing days in Lake Powell!! It was so much fun! Jordan and I have been there together once before, but the water was about 50 degrees, and we were in sweats and sweatshirts the entire time. This experience was completely different! The weather was between 80-90 degrees, and the water was between 65 and 70. Not too bad at all! We were lucky enough to fly down and be able to skip the 6 hour drive, Jordan was the copilot... SCARY! Haha just kidding, he did a great job.

We went wake-boarding, surfing, tubing, watched movies, played games, and ATE! It was a very much needed vaca.

We had so much fun with my family and some close friends. Brooke, Jason, Katie, and Jer got to come with us! Lets just call us the sensational six!! We were very sad when our trip ended today, but we are excited to get back to planning our wedding! Only 37 more days till I am Mrs. Amber Swarbrick!!!!
